Rise above the pity politics!!! Aftermath of Mumbai Attack

I am appalled by the current attacks on one of the finest city in India and its aftermath. I am appalled also by agencies and countries around the world who if can not help would not stop commenting on tense situation by publishing reports downgrading the standing of the country as a safe place to visit.

I am also at pain by some countrymen who in the name of politics has started the blame game. This is the time to act, we must instead of renting hatred must take a step back and think the following
1. Do we have an effective emergency management plan to respond to situation of this proportion?
2. Do we have an effective emergcy management plan to act in time of natural calamities?
3. Do we have a well chalked out response unit and management center on how to deal?
4. do we have a proper law of work on and respond without wasting time?
5. Do our citizen understand that at the time of crisis instead of going and damaging the scene they can step back and allow the specilist team to manage the situation? They would have enough time to build when the time comes

if not then lets come up with things that as a citizen we can do best,

Lets ask our elected leader to come with an effective plan.
lets Ask our representative that if they can not plan let them make a way for others who can!!!

I guess this is the time we must unite and work, work towards a stronger nation, a better world

Mumbai(Bombay) would rise, it would become even more better city, India would become a better country, it is time again for Indian to show what character we are made off

Lets work together, lets build our nation a strong nation that would make the world and Indians proud.

Who Knows better about thier Child !!!

I was surprised by the report that a Mom could be arrested in chicago for putting a child in the car and standing 10 yards away from the car.

I always feel we as a society try to overstep into the private affairs of the family, i do not beleive any Child welfare agency would be able to provide even 20% care of what a parent can do.

Hold On!! before you say i am wrong, the only exception to this rule is a habitual abuser or molester.

I have a strong feeling that Parents can do some time wrong things like the lady using a water at a car washing center, but they do not want bad things for thier children. The love for the kids is always a top priority in the mind of a parents.

Even an animal protects thier kids, how can we as a human assume that a parents would not take care of thiers?

What yard stick do we employ to judge a parent, Just one act!! which could be a stupid act!!!

How do we judge a parent?, can we measure the depth of love in mother's heart? can we measure the depth of protection in father's mind.
No we can not......

I feel as a society we must come together and come with unique way of dealing the situation than punishing a parent for one stupid act.

We must find a innovative way to take care of such situation, Jail is not the solution, Foster care is not a answer.... I am not against foster care, but that is not the answer.

Outsourcing During Election time

As the election season/Primary is approaching to its conclusion, we see more and more discussion on Outsourcing, if the outsourcing is good or bad for the economy

we have two sides of the coin in this country, one that says Outsourcing is good for the country, it creates more value to the product. It adds job up in the value chain. On the other hand we have some including the currently contesting candidates that is adding fire to the fuel, having a stance that Outsourcing of jobs creates jobs loss, and is bad for the economy.

I would cite one study by National Buureau of Economic research study conducted by economist from Havard and University of Michigan that found that more investment by US firm in other countries leads to more domestic investment and has positive impact rather than negative impact.

so the question is on what basis do we say Outsourcing is bad!!!!!

we have many companies from world over setting up thier shop in USA and brining in new job opportunities like Toyota, Kia, Honda, to name just a few

What is there in American Psyche

This is a land of Opportunity, A land of free will, A land of free enterprise.
The most powerful country in the world, a land where people want to sneek in by hook or crook, yet this is a country where 1 in 100 people go to jail in thier life time

This is a country where there are maximum capital punishment, the only country that would come ahead are Sudan, China or Pakistan.

This is also a country where maximum gun related incidents happen. So what is wrong here?

As a society is there a degeneration. Are we not teaching our kids the value of life, Are we taking life too easy because there is an abundance. Why, Why?

Thinking out of Box

Thinking out of Box I have been hearing of late a lot about " Thinking out of the Box" or "lateral thinking".

What exaclty is out of the box thinking?
Who defines that a particular thought is indeed out of box? and
How exactly do we teach some one how to think out of box?

I have been thinking about this for some time now and honestly, it is difficult to explian. We can read so much about this thinking pattern, but the question is can you teach how to think out of Box, if you can teach some one then will that be a out of box really?

Let's see how does one defines out of Box thinking!!!
Out of Box thinking is some thing which is diferrent from normal way of thinking, the way most people would think in a normal circumstances-- or we may call it "inside the box thinking".

If some how we can think from a new perspective, than we would normally think, then that could qualify as out of Box....

Out of Box thinking in that case would require someone to have some attributes or chareteristics like
  • Willingness to see new perspectives while working on a day-to-day work.
  • Openness to do things in a different way
  • Looking inside before looking outsideOpeness to suggestion no matter from where it comes
  • Ready to explore and make mistakes
  • Acting on the thoughts or idea that one feels is out of box.

Having defined " Out of Box thinking",

the next question that comes to my mind can we really inculcate the habit of out of box thinking among people and in general among kids.

I was reading an article on WSJ that says Finish kids are most intelligent in the world atleast in the parameters they were tested, the question that i asked was it any way due to out of Box thinking abilities, well I do not know that.

One thing is for sure if we need to excel in life no matter what work we do. we need to move away from normal way , we need to create a niche, we need to create a value for ourselves, we need abilities to think differently, we would call that " Out of Box"
