What is there in American Psyche

This is a land of Opportunity, A land of free will, A land of free enterprise.
The most powerful country in the world, a land where people want to sneek in by hook or crook, yet this is a country where 1 in 100 people go to jail in thier life time

This is a country where there are maximum capital punishment, the only country that would come ahead are Sudan, China or Pakistan.

This is also a country where maximum gun related incidents happen. So what is wrong here?

As a society is there a degeneration. Are we not teaching our kids the value of life, Are we taking life too easy because there is an abundance. Why, Why?

Authors argument of violence in united states compare to the rest of the world is arguable as it lacks to cite evidence on number of people who are being deceased or injured either mentaly or physically in United States over rest of the world. It is very easy to report or see the violent issues in a country that has the free will and the population which has grown at 7% steadly. However the real issue is to understand the magnitude of this issue in relate to the population and the peace keeping process that the country has instated successfully.

To start with, the evidence that author gives about the number of people go to jail can not be considered as a yardstick to measure the real violence. It is very likely that the country has a very stringent process to control the rapid growing, multi cultural, multi ethic population. It is the very peace keeping process that has made this country as a safe heaven as people say. There is value of life, nothings is assumed or taken for granted. Every life is accounted for.

To continue, the other point of the author around the gun related incidents is arguable in terms of the number of incidents and deaths in compare to that of other populated country's. The very independence of this coountry happened due to every one took charge of their safety and fought fearlessly to eliminate the evil. It is often questioned that guns should be banned from licencing to civilians, however it is not easy to reverse a cause which was the reason for the very cause.

I am not in doubt that there is room to make a better society, however it will be a mistake to say that we are living in an uncertain society.
